Question by K: Running water on stage?
Anyone have any ideas on how we could run water from a kitchen sink faucet on stage? There is no nearby water source to hook up to. Would a siphon and bucket set up work? Maybe somehow using a small pump for meant for water fountains?
Help! I got roped into this and I’m so not a t.d.!

You have never been on a small CRUISING SAIL BOAT have you? We use what is called a DAY TANK.. it’s a small, usually 5 gallon tank, placed high in the cabin or even on deck, with a hose leading down to the galley sink and turned on or off with just a simply faucet… THIS WORKS and it’s about as LOW TECH as you can get.

This is a GREAT product! I wanted a table fountain for my office, and the ready-made versions are really fake looking and made from resin, plus they tend to be adorned with all kinds of tacky gew-gaws. However, with this product you just need a deep bowl with straights sides. The container should be at least 10-12 inches wide and at least 4 inches deep. I found an inexpensive serving bowl at Target and then just added the bamboo spout and some pretty river rocks we collected on a vacation. The pump is tiny, about the size of a small brownie. It has three little suction cups on the bottom and is totally silent. Basically you just hook the spout up to the pump with the supplied tubing, place it in your container, disguise the pump with rocks, add water, and plug it in and Voila! You have a beautiful fountain made from natural materials for about the same price as a tacky ready-made. The pump is adjustable as well and you can change the water flow to make it softer or louder. My only small quibble is that the supplied tubing is rather stiff so if you have a container that tapers towards the bottom it will be hard to set up the pump, a straight sided container is really best. The bamboo spout is beautifully hand made and finished as well. I just love it!
