This rustic fountain features three water buckets stacked casually, water flowing in a gentle stream from one into the next. Designed to resemble antique wooden buckets, they bring to mind the rural landscapes and pioneer towns of the American prairie.

Question by Dustin: I have a bucket can I keep fish in it?
I have a wooden bucket or container outside with a little fountain attached to it. It could fit about 4-5 fish comfortably and has a water lilly growing in it. What would I need to do to keep the fish alive also what kind of fish could I put in there. Its lined with a garage bag.
Also would it be a good idea to be an algae eater in there?

Better off keeping them in the tank for better health and longer living!!!!

an algae eater would suffocate on the plastic bag. a fish tank needs to be heated and should be glass or plastic. there needs to be a filter and a light and gravel in the bottom. if you were to put fish in it, i wouldnt expect them to live very long.

4 or 5 fish won’t work and no algae eater (Not because he would eat the plastic he would get too large and isn’t needed). 2 pearlscale goldfish could be housed nicely in your wooden container (I think I know what kind you are talking about) However you would have to bring them inside in the winter since the wooden container would freeze solid.

Your fountain is fine no filter is needed here. You will want to test the water to be sure the nitrates don’t spike too high. Feed your fish a mix of fresh raw veggies and quality foods. they will also eat the algae that grows (if any) in the mini pond
