  • Integrates seamlessly with any garden or landscape
  • Installs in less than 30 minutes
  • Can also be placed in a decorative pot for indoor or patio use
  • Every fountain is unique
  • Kit includes pump, basin, fountain, everything you need

The Aqua Rock Fountain Kit integrates seamlessly with any landscape or garden. The kit installs in less than 30 minutes and the only tool you’ll need is a shovel. The basin (a 5 gallon bucket) is buried and only the fountain is visible above ground. Its underground catch basin means there’s no pond maintenance and there’s very little water evaporation. The pump makes a 2 to 3 inch water spout above the rock, providing the rich, tranquil sound of bubbling water. The bucket beneath the fountain is self filling in wet climates and continuously recycles water. The perforated lid on the bucket allows water to drain into the bucket but keeps dirt and silt out so the pump will never clog. Your fountain can be placed outside in your yard and landscaping or it can be placed in a decorative pot for indoor or patio use! Each rock is 100% natural, so every fountain is unique. Aqua Rock’s Tan Sandstone Flag Stack Fountain turns an ordinary spot into an extraordinary sight and sound. The square and rectangular stones are a soft, tan shade and create extra layers for the water to trickle down. It’s like a miniature waterfall!

Stock mosquito-eating fish – The most common and effective naturalistic control of mosquitoes is offered by mosquito-eating fish. Mosquito Fish Mosquito fish, for example, can eat 100 to 500 mosquito larvae per day. They play an important role in mosquito control in ponds, canals, irrigated fields and some other freshwater sources. Small backyard ponds can be stocked with Koi, Sarasa Comets, or Shubunkins. Check with your fish & game department regarding local regulations before stocking.

koi are not only really pretty, but used for outside ponds, fountains, ect a lot, they will most likely eat the bugs and can handle the tempurature change, make sure to get a little one cause they are pretty expensive, but they are great fish to have, hope it helped :)

and you can always ask your local pet store.

the fish are called mosquito eating fish(that’s really the name) they have enormous appetite for mosquito eggs and their larvae. you could buy them at pet shops they are also called feeder guppies. the one you feed to bigger fishes. for your fountain you should put at least 5 so that the fish stomach would not burst because they will eat the mosquitos even though they are so fuLL!=)

Get them free from Vector Control.

Either “Google” it, or go to you’re city’s website. You have to sign up for them.

My neighbor gets them every spring. I’m not sure if they’re supposed to die off during the winter, but his always do.

    I hope this helped.

Gambusia affinis (mosquito fish), as they name indicates, eat mosquito larvae. They are kind of bland colored but if you don’t feed them anything else, they should do a pretty good job of keeping your small pond clear or mosquitos. The mosquitoes.org distributes them during certain times of the year and some aquarium fish shops carry them. They can live in unheated water unless it freezes (in a deep pond or lake, they will seek out the depths where the water hasn’t frozen), and they seem to be able to withstand high temps too. My dad keeps these in his bonsai rainwater collection pots/barrels/tubs outside year round.

Three spine sticklebacks are supposed to be good for ponds too. I don’t know much about them though.

Topminnows are good mosquito larvae eaters and don’t need heat. You can get them at the bait shop.

Supposedly guppies are good eaters too but I always thought guppies needed to be kept within certain warm temps.

Never release any fish to the wilds. These are not native CAlifornia fish and can out compete the native species to extinction.

  6. Roberto G says:

Your local vector control department should have them. They are not available year round though, mostly during the summer months only. For your immediate concern, try the old-fashion feeder guppies at your local fish store They’ll get rid of mosquitoes fast!
